You’ve heard about Elixir’s and Phoenix’s scalabililty, performance and simplicity and how it can be used for websites, micro services, APIs and embedded IoT devices. But you may not be sure how to get started or if you’d enjoy it.

Come find out how much fun it can be to start building web apps in Elixir and Phoenix in this 3 hour workshop on October 1, 2016 in Portland, Oregon.

Who is this for?

This is a beginners guide to Elixir and Phoenix. Its best if you’ve had some experience programming (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, etc) but you don’t need to know much Elixir or Phoenix to attend. We’ll cover the basics and work through a hands on application to get you started.

Where

This 3 hour workshop is being hosted by Epicodus in the First National Bank Building in Portland from 9am – 12noon to October 1, 2016.

What you need

Bring a laptop with your favorite editor and browser. We’ll be pair programming so its not critical, but try to install Elixir and Phoenix and PostgreSQL beforehand.
